If you are approaching Hiawassee from the EAST on Hwy. 76 and are pulling a trailer, camper, or motorhome, DO NOT turn onto Hwy. 288 east of Hiawassee. There is a very tight "U" turn from this direction. To avoid this, continue driving east on Hwy. 76 and drive through the town of Hiawassee, and then turn right onto Hwy. 288 on the west side of town.
